I am new to home networking and open source software. I know a little bit about networks but I am hoping to set up a small network for my home office using free and open source tools.
I had really appreciate some advice on a few things:
- What are the best free programs for setting up and managing a home network? Reliability and a helpful community are important to me.
- Are there any clear instructions for building a network from scratch using open source tools? Step-by-step stuff would be great.
- What security measures should I take when setting up my network? Are there any specific free security tools I should look at?
- What are some common problems people run into with open source networking, and how can I fix them?
